Class Descriptions

There are 3 ways to attend Aerial Arts of Rochester.
Session Courses, Workshops or Private Lessons.

Introduction Workshops

Want to Try it before you commit? No problem, Aerial Arts of Rochester offers Sampler Workshops for Aerial Arts (Silks, Hoop & Hammock) and Pole Dance Fitness.

Youth Aerial Arts (Ages 7 - 12)
Experience what its like to be real aerial acrobat. Children will have a blast training on our aerial apparatuses, such as silks, aerial hoop, static trapeze and hammock. Our trained circus arts instructors will provide guided instruction in a safe and encouraging environment, where their confidence can soar. Watch your little acrobats perform at the student showcase in June. Boys and girls welcome.

* We welcome special needs children, however please contact the studio prior to signing up to discuss as we want to make sure that all children are safe and that our staff can provide with them with the support (if any) that they may need.

Aerial Silks Levels 1 - 4

Aerial Silks is one of the most popular session courses at Aerial Arts. That's often because of the beauty, skill and versatility of the ribbon-like fabrics. You can pose, wrap, climb, invert and drop. We offer 4 levels.

Pole Dance Fitness (Levels 1 - 3)

Pole Dance Fitness is not only a challenging workout but great way to express your creativity through movement. Expect to learn spins, transitions, floor work and sequences during class. The studio offers levels 1 - 3 including specialty courses, such as Stilettos and Poleography. The studio also offers a seasonal conditioning class called TNT (Toned and Tough) and Open Pole Practice which is recommended for those who want to advance more quickly.

Aerial Yoga & Hammock (Sling)

The hammock also referred to as "Sling" is fabric loop that is usually suspended only a few feet off the ground. We offer (2) different formats for Aerial Yoga; Beginner Aerial Yoga for new or entry level students or Power Aerial Yoga for those who are more seasoned practitioners.
Core Aerial
is a strengthening class that will use the hammock to build and condition your upper body, back and abs.
Sling Stretch & Strength is a conditioning class that help you gain flexibility. Offered as a Walk in class option.

*Each class can only support up to 8 participants and advance enrollment is required.

Aerial Hoop (Levels 1 - 3)

Also referred to a Lyra, the Aerial Hoop is circular metal apparatus that resembles a hula hoop. You'll learn various mounts, poses, transitions and sequences. Drops and Rolls are explored in levels 2 & 3.

Static Trapeze (Levels 1 - 3)

Static Trapeze certainly allows you fly (except you won't be up 30 feet in the air). Aerial Arts of Rochester explores static trapeze similarly to the aerial hoop. At level 1, you'll work on the fundamentals on the bar and below. Once you advance, movements get more intricate incorporating the ropes.


Wearing a harness with a bungee cord connected in the back, you'll be bouncing, flying and getting fit! This fun, cardio and calorie burning class, great for those who want a low-impact workout that is gentle on the joints. Teens and Adults of all ages are welcome and encouraged to try it! Please be aware the maximum weight capacity for this specific activity is 200 lbs due the the elasticity and rating of the bungee cord units that support the participant.

Private Lessons
$55 per hour lesson
$150 for package of 3 lessons ($15 discount applied)
Have a rotating work schedule and can't commit to session courses? Maybe you prefer one on one instruction. Lessons can include a concentration on one apparatus or include a variety. The studio will pair you with the most appropriate instructor for what you hope to accomplish. Package discounts are available. Day, Evening and Weekends are available.
